One of Mano a Mano's most important Gala traditions is the "Fund a Need" or "Live Auction" in direct support of our amazing programming, which helped almost 5000 people just in 2016. Every year , our generous respond enthusiastically, making this the single largest fundraising auction of the evening. This half hour period of this one evening has the power to raise more than 5% of Mano a Mano's yearly revenue. It is truly powerful.

Healthy Families Program:

Mano a Mano's Healthy Families Program is a community-based approach to building health literacy and connecting immigrant families to regular preventative healthcare services. Our objectives are to improve knowledge of important health topics and the healthcare system so that community members are empowered to take control of their health--improving overall health outcomes at both the family and community levels.  Help us build healthy families and communities!

$500: Helps individuals diagnosed with diabetes to participate in 10 weeks of evidence-based trainings on diabetes management, including personalized mentoring to make positive lifestyle changes.

$200: Supports local farmers to develop their skills in organic farming and to produce fresh and healthy food to feed their families. 

$100:Equipes Community Health Workers with the training, resources  and confidence that they need to educate the community about their health to connect with resources in the community. 

Productive Parents Program:

Mano a Mano's Productive Parents and Citizens Programs are the keys to improving the economic and social well-being of immigrant families in Lake County! Our objectives are to help parents build their technical skills, speak better English, and obtain better jobs in order to provide more opportunities for their families.  Additionally in order to help community members become fully integrated into the community, we also assist them through the process of becoming a U.S. Citizen, while encouraging leadership and volunteerism.  Support us to create more prosperous and engaged communities.  

$200: Helps a student to receive skill-building training to obtain their GED (high school equivalency).

$100: Assists an eager job seeker in building his or her computer skills to be more competitive in the job market. 

Successful Children Program:

Mano a Mano's Successful Children Program is our most transformative work, through which we prepare little ones to be academically successful from day one! This program breaks the cycle of poverty through prevention! Our objectives are to immerse our little learners in the joys of learning by providing them with tools and books in order to start kindergarten at grade level and also to mentor parents as they develop the skills and confidence to be their child's first teacher.  Contribute to shaping the future generation!

$500:  Engages five children in intense Kindergarten readiness preparation to develop essential skills and enter school ready to succeed.

$200:  Empowers three parents to be their children's first teachers through parent mentoring and education.

$100:  Supports ongoing parent and child booster sessions ensuring ongoing practice of newly acquired skills.      

Engaged Citizens Program:

Perhaps the ultimate step in achieving the American Dream for immigrants is becoming a U.S. citizen! Mano a Mano is the local non-profit expert in all things immigration. We help community members obtain their optimal immigration status through affordable and high quality legal services.  Finally, Mano a Mano assists community members in becoming more educated consumers, helping them learn about the legal system and how to avoid fraud.  Make the American Dream through citizenship possible!

$500:  Empowers a legal permanent resident to realize the dream of becoming a U.S. citizen.

$200:  Supports youth DREAMer students in education and outreach across the county to help other high school students apply for Deferred Action/DREAMer status.

$100:  Contributes to anti-fraud campaign, building community knowledge about common scams and prevents them from becoming victim to fraud.
